Mission
We are people working together and supporting each other
while weaving a community based on wholeness of body,
mind and spirit. We are committed to raising
appreciation of the wealth of holistic health and life
choices available in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys
and being responsible towards the beauty of our
community and our Earth.
Our
History
The
first gathering of what was to become Health Choices
Network (HCN) was held under an old oak tree. The
oak tree was seen as an emblem of what the HCN was to
become...its roots in the soil of our community, its
strength, spreading shade and beauty, nurturing our
spirits and bodies. HCN supports the diverse limbs
of holistic health and life choices amongst us.
Practitioners and teachers who have their roots here and
have traveled far and wide to develop their talents,
skills and gifts, have come home again to plant those
seeds in the soil of our community.
Since
1993 our services have included six Health Choices
Expos, eight editions of our Resource Guide
(the Yellow Pages of holistic health in our valleys),
and has participated in numerous health fairs and
community events such as the American Heart Association
and the March of Dimes. We have also sponsored
many seminars and lectures including Patch Adams MD
(long before his movie), Howard Lyman and Michele
O'Donnell.
